The house is divided into three separate sections, with wooden-clad niches integrated into the facade, inspired by the Japanese engawa space.
Engawa refers to covered wooden walkways that run along the perimeter of the house, serving as a transitional zone between the house and the garden.
Two contrasting timber surfaces are used: Accoya wood finished with brushed shou sugi ban, while lighter-grade timber is used for the engawa spaces.
Inside the house, floor-to-ceiling glass windows offer views of the surrounding greenery and bring abundant natural light into the hallways.
The open-plan living and dining area features a vaulted ceiling, enhancing the sense of spaciousness.
Another corridor connects the living spaces with the bedrooms and bathrooms.
One of the bedrooms features sliding glass doors that open onto an outdoor area.
The bathroom interior also draws inspiration from Japanese design, featuring a deep wooden soaking tub.
