A contemporary house located in Hanoi, Vietnam, surrounded by taller buildings, features a rooftop terrace and integrated green spaces.

In response to rapid urbanization and the scarcity of public open spaces, the architects have incorporated outdoor areas into the residential design.

The ground level showcases a clean white exterior, while the upper levels are characterized by modular brick façades. Some brick segments host integrated planters, introducing greenery throughout the elevation.

The rooftop area is designed as an open-air garden where the homeowners can cultivate vegetables and fruits. These rooftop zones also serve as private retreat spaces amid the bustling urban environment.

Outdoor lighting is embedded in the rooftop structures, enabling nighttime use and contributing ambient illumination to the surrounding neighborhood by filtering through perforated walls and openings.

Inside the house, the layout is open-plan, with glass ceilings allowing natural daylight to flood the living space. The living room seamlessly connects to the kitchen and dining area, where custom-built planters are integrated into the architectural design.

Other rooms feature sliding doors that open onto green pockets, helping visually shield the residence from the surrounding cityscape.
